Russia buys 16,740 tns of grain for state fund via NAMEX on Tue
MOSCOW, Dec 12 (PRIME) -- The Russian government bought 16,740 tonnes of grain worth 220.072 million rubles for the state intervention fund on the National Mercantile Exchange (NAMEX), the exchange said on Tuesday.
The next trading sessions will be held from Wednesday through Friday and on December 18.
Since the start of grain procurements on Monday, the government has bought 32,670 tonnes of grain worth 435.457 million rubles.
Russia launched grain market interventions in 2001. The government expanded the state grain intervention fund to 3 million tonnes in 2022, and the Agriculture Ministry planned to send up to 2 million tonnes of grain more to the fund until the end of 2023.
